Bay State Milling Recognized as a US Best Managed Company for the Second Time

Bay State Milling Company has been selected by Deloitte as a 2024 US Best Managed Company after also being honored in 2023. The award, sponsored by Deloitte Private and The Wall Street Journal, is now in its fifth year of recognizing the achievements of private companies in the U.S. and the successes of their management teams.

Deloitte defines a Best Managed Company as “a private business that excels in meeting the needs of its customers, communities, and employees.” Honorees are selected by an external panel of judges who evaluate applications based on strategy, ability to execute, culture, governance, and financial performance. Best Managed Companies create a sense of accountability and vested interest in success throughout the organization; create a culture that values employees through training, teamwork, and professional development; and apply financial discipline and excellence in governance.

“Bay State Milling is honored to receive this prestigious mark of excellence for the second year running,” said Pete Levangie, President and CEO. “Our employees are our greatest asset and I’d like to extend a massive thank you to our exceptional team – this recognition for our dedication to excellence wouldn’t be possible without each and every one of you.”

Judges for the 2024 program included Lynn Clarke, Independent Director for early-stage privately-held companies; Jared DiPalma of Dow Jones; and Don Yee, Independent Director for Aerometals, TotalMed and Lundberg Family Farms.
